Prague, March 19 (CTK) – Czech Health Minister Adam Vojtech writes on Twitter that 694 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country, and so there were 122 new patients today, the highest daily increase so far.

Three patients have recovered in the Czech Republic. Nobody has died of the COVID-19 disease, but the health condition of five patients is serious, Vojtech said on Wednesday.

The first COVID-19 patient in a very serious condition was moved to St Anne’s Hospital in Brno. The 59-year-old man has been connected to a ventilator.

The highest number of patients is in Prague. The Prague sanitary officer recorded 223 confirmed cases this evening, 42 more than on Wednesday. Apart from Prague and the region around the city, Central Bohemia, the most affected regions are Moravia-Silesia and the Olomouc Region.

The first three cases were confirmed in the country on March 1. A state of emergency was declared because of the outbreak a week ago, free movement of people was markedly limited and most public events were cancelled.
