While the Prague Stock Exchange is smaller than more famous counterparts elsewhere in Europe, its recent performance has been just as strong. Now, though, global uncertainty is threatening one of the region’s financial success stories.
Growth has been impressive. Since January 2025, the PX index, which tracks the performance of stocks listed in Prague, has grown by 51.3 percent. For comparison, the UK’s FTSE 100 index grew by 30.16 percent in the same time period, while the USA’s S&P 500 index also grew by 30 percent.
It’s not all good news, though. In recent months, Prague-listed stocks have seen more volatile returns; the PX index is down 0.84 percent since the year began and down over 5 percent since an all-time high achieved in September.
What companies are in the Prague exchange?
The PX Index comprises the 14 biggest listed companies in Czechia. Confusingly, though, not all of these companies are actually Czech.
