In a move to expand its operations and bring more fashion options to the capital, popular Irish retail chain Primark will be opening a new store in Prague’s Zličín shopping center. The store will cover 2,800 square meters and offer the latest fashion trends, beauty, lifestyle, and home goods.

Martin Makovec from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, the company behind Metropole Zličín, expressed his excitement about the new Primark branch. "This partnership promises not only to expand the fashion offerings, but also to improve the shopping experience for all visitors," he said. The new store is set to create 140 jobs.

Primark has not yet announced the exact opening date for the store, but it will be sometime between September 2024 and September 2025.

With successful branches already in Wenceslas Square (opened in mid-2021) and Brno (September 2022), Primark has set its sights on Zličín in the west of the capital.

The new store will not only bring more fashion options to the area, but also promote sustainability and provide affordable fashion for its customers. With a commitment to sustainability, more than half of Primark's clothing is made from recycled or sustainably sourced materials, with a goal of reaching 100 percent by 2030. This is another step towards Primark's goal of offering environmentally friendly fashion.

The new store in Zličín is just the beginning of Primark's expansion plans in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). With a growing interest and commitment to the region, the company intends to open more stores and reach a total of 16 stores in six CEE markets by 2025.
