As a Fullstack Developer/Software Engineer II, joining the Alpaca Team, you will build modern, scalable web applications using TypeScript, Next.js, and React. You will contribute to building and managing portals for Accolade's customers, where they can consult health insights, manage enrollments, and access reporting.
What you will do:
Design and implement complex frontend features and user workflows using React, Next.js(v15), and TypeScript
Drive and shape the architecture and lead engineering efforts for Accolade's customer portals.
Own projects end-to-end, from developing prototypes based on UI/UX and data requirements to ensuring reliable roll-outs to production in two-week sprints.
Follow best practices to build high-performing applications that are easy to maintain and extend.
Collaborate with product management, design, and other engineers to create a cohesive, consistent, and easy-to-use application across the monorepo.
Work with integrated data visualization tools (like Tableau and Qlik/Enigma.js) to deliver rich insights to customers.
Ad-hoc tasks based on business needs.
What we are looking for:
Experience building and maintaining performant and complex web applications with a large user base (2+ years) using React and Next.js.
Strong knowledge (2+ years) of building web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Production knowledge of REST APIs and server-side rendering patterns (Node.js).
Experience using modern technologies for building and testing pipelines like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and GitHub Actions.
Strong team player in a flat-structured, highly collaborative, agile environment is a must. - Communicate clearly and effectively with operations, product, and the rest of the team.
Bonus Points:
Experience with AWS (DynamoDB, CDK, CloudFront, etc) and Docker.
Experience with monorepo architectures (pnpm workspaces) and shared component libraries.
Experience with data visualization libraries (Recharts) or BI tool embedding (Tableau).
