Golden Tikka restaurant in Konviktská 9 is traditional indian non-smoking restaurant situated in the historical centre of Prague.

The restaurant is located in a quiet street near to the Charles bridge and the National Theatre. The restaurant was built up in a lower ground floor formely being a cellar several year ago. The inner space is thus dominated by distinctive arches which give the restaurant special warm atmosphere. The interior is simple, but cozy. Walls are adorned with oil paintings by Czech artist Jiří Končel of scenes of contemporary daily life in India. The restaurant was opened in May 2009. At weekdays the reasonable price lunch menu is very popular.


The owner and most of the staff and mainly cooks are Indians from Punjab, from where comes the best indian dishes and recipes worldwide well known like Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka and all other specialities made in Tandoor, Shahi Paneer and all types of dishes contains paneer – home made cheese, Dal Makhani, Chana Masala, etc. Punjab is also home to indian breads – chapatis, rotis, naans and paranthas. You can find all of them and more traditional punjabi dishes in our menu plus other indian specialities like Chicken Madras or Vindaloo. Our cooks use mostly fresh vegetables and meat and original Indian ingredients and spices. They prepare every day wide range of vegetarian dishes, juicy chicken and tender lamb dishes, fishes and prawns. Lot of dishes are prepared in tandoor clay owen. All this make the service and food  highly authentic and traditional.

Best Indian food in Prague

Tikka Indian restaurant is the best Indian food in Prague, coming from an Indian from Florida USA. I have tried many of the other places in Prague but this restaurant is best tasting, excellent price and service and food portions. A must for any Indian food lover. I will be making frequent visits here for sure as I come back to Prague.

I have been in Prague for 3 years now and think this is one of the best Indian restaurant we have . The food is good , the place is centrally located. Compared to other indian restaurants this is much better than Pind or Masal a which are in and around the neighbourhood .

I came to indian Tikka restaurant with 3 colleagues twoo weeks bevore christmas,it was my first expirience with the indian food. I really liked it, the lunch menu was tasty and good value for the price,we got fresh water free.The restaturant was non smoking and clean, situated near to historical center.There was also good service, especialy the waiter with longer hair was very friendly and helpfull.We will come sure again there.Jana

This place is just outstanding! The location of the restaurant is just lovely, Situated in historical area, there is always a bustling lively atmosphere here, whether its at lunch or dinner. Really a wonderful place. Very fair priced, great tasting Indian food. I have been all over the world, and this is some of the best I have ever had.
