Private British Nursery & Preschool for children aged 2–6, located in the heart of Prague 1 – Florenc. We provide high-quality bilingual education based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales and the Czech Curriculum Framework.

MISSION STATEMENT:
To ensure that all our pupils acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to become self-reliant, responsible and contributing members of society, we use the most advanced study programmes based on a combination of two curricula: the National Curriculum of England and Wales and the Czech Curriculum Framework.
We work within two cultural contexts, teaching children to understand and respect their own culture while simultaneously broadening their minds so that they are able to continue their education either at a Czech school or abroad. At Florentinum, we use teaching approaches that actively engage all pupils and accommodate their individual learning styles. We strongly believe in the words of Jan Amos Comenius that “learning is natural” and that much can be learnt almost effortlessly, in small portions and at each child’s natural pace.
OUR LANGUAGE POLICY:
We employ fully qualified English teachers who teach and conduct lessons in English. However, as many of our pupils are Czech speakers, we also teach children in Czech, ensuring that the Czech component of the curriculum is successfully covered. English is taught by English teachers, while Czech is taught by a qualified Czech teacher.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Our extracurricular activities include literacy and drama clubs, art and music lessons, swimming, cooking and more. We regularly organise school trips, overnight stays at the preschool and school in nature.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES:
Our school programme also includes regular support from a therapeutic pedagogy specialist, a school speech therapist specialising in the prevention of speech disorders, and a school psychologist who supports parents through regular meetings and seminars.
The preschool also arranges regular preventive examinations of children’s eyes and feet, as well as other screenings designed to support their healthy development. A general practitioner, dentist and dental hygienist are available within the Florentinum complex.
