During couples sessions I am using the Gottman Method, which was developed by the world-renowned psychologists Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It consists of a thorough ASSESSMENT and a series of EFFECTIVE INTERVENTIONS. The assessment identifies challenging areas of your relationship. Over the last 40 years, Drs. John and Julie Gottman developed scientifically proven intervention techniques that have helped more than 100,000 couples. We will use these powerful techniques to deepen friendship and intimacy in your relationship. To help you productively manage conflicts, manage resolvable problems and dialogue about gridlocked issues. We will also work together to help you appreciate your relationship’s strengths.

I SPECIALISE IN EXPAT CLIENTS: During my long term stays in the UK and Germany I was able to experience different studying, working and living environments, therefore it is not difficult for me to understand the situation of foreigners and expats when meeting them as clients. Moreover i am Slovak living in the Czech Republic for almost 30 years, so I know how it is to be surrounded by a different culture.
I see openness and the natural relationship between the client and the therapist as a key to successful therapeutic process. I provide a supportive environment based on empathy and acceptance, so you feel comfortable in sharing and exploring your feelings, thoughts and experiences. I can help you develop an understanding of yourself and patterns you follow, and provide you with the support to facilitate positive change. Your well-being and confidentiality are my top concerns. It is you who defines the goals and makes the choice to take a particular course of action.
In the Western culture we have been supported to focus on our thinking and often ignore or supress what is happening in our bodies. Regardless how much you like to be in your head, I will show you methods how to get in touch with your body and express and accept what you feel. For many clients, this is an effective way of coming to peace and stability.
