Prague’s Largest Farmers’ Market Comes to Letná This Weekend

During the spring and summer months, farmers’ markets at Prague locations such as Náplavka, Jiřího z Poděbrad, Tylovo náměstí, and more have become increasingly popular – and increasingly large – over the past few years.

But one farmers’ market is larger than all of them.

Dožínky na Letné, or the Harvest Feast at Letná, is being billed as the largest farmers’ market in Prague. You may have seen advertisements for it on billboards or bales of hay strategically stacked around the Czech capital.

Unlike other farmers’ markets, however, the Harvest Feast at Letná is a one-off event that will take place at Letná Park this Saturday, September 8.

And unlike other markets, this one features a festival-like atmosphere that includes a full-day lineup of live music events and other stage programs featuring traditional Czech folk performers, performances for children, and more.

Products available at the Harvest Feast at Letná include local goods like Czech and Moravian wines and beers, bio and organic produce, meats, cheeses and vegetables, baked goods, and much more.

Representatives from Czech agricultural unions will also be on hand to showcase machinery, animals, and other local products.

The festival will kick off at 10:00 in the expansive Letenská pláň in Prague 7. Entrance is free of charge.

As an added bonus, during the event admission is also free to the nearby National Technical Museum and National Museum of Agriculture, who support Dožínky na Letné.
