Muzeum, Anděl, Florenc: Prague Summer Metro Interruptions Numerous

Changes will begin as early as July 1; according to DPP, reps will be on hand to offer information and support in the coming months

The coming weeks will see some significant changes to Prague public transport across all of its metro lines—including some important central transport hubs—beginning the first week of July.

“In this period, there are only three working days, so we have put all the biggest events in this period,” Jan Šurovský, Technical Director of DPP, told iDnes.cz.

The first of the interruptions will take place on the C (red) line between Florenc and Pražského povstání stations which will be closed in both directions between July 1 and 9. The XC substitute bus, will be running.

One of the most notable closures will be that of the Muzeum metro platform on the A (green) line, which will be closed from July 11 for five months for track repairs. Trains going in the direction of Depo Hostivař will pass through the metro without stopping.

Passengers who need to transfer at Muzeum will have to do a little creative backstracking (see the infographic above for directions).

Additional repairs will take place to the Jinonice station on the B (yellow) line which will remain closed until mid-August.

Also on the yellow line, the Anděl station will see metro repairs to its escalator beginning in August. Shoppers take note: the entrance will only be accessible via the Na Knížecí side. This closure could last until April 2018.
