A McDonald’s cheeseburger will now set you back 29 CZK instead of 25 CZK, an increase of 16 percent.
The price of a Big Mac hamburger remains the same as last year (75 CZK) although, in addition to the rising cost of the cheeseburger, the chicken snack wrap will now cost 29 CZK.
“The cheeseburger is one of the cheapest products in McDonald’s, so we believe that our customers will not perceive the slight increase in prices drastically. Even within the fast food market, it is still a favorable offer.”
The McDonald’s cheeseburger entered the market at 21 CZK, a quarter of a century ago in 1992, reflecting an 8-CZK price increase in 25 years. The last increase was from 20 CZK to 25 CZK in 2013.
The company is one of the largest restaurant chains in the Czech Republic with 96 branches. Its sales increased last year by 200 million to 4.6 billion CZK. The company employs over 5,000 people in the Czech Republic.
