My name is Karolina Pancernaite and I am a professional pianist based in Prague. I am originally from Lithuania but recently I established myself in Prague as I became a member of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

I have completed my studies in piano performance in the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Teaching has been a part of my professional life for over 10 years.

My goal is to teach and provide you with all the necessary technical and theoretical tools to understand the music you play, but above all to be able to fully experience and form an emotional connection to the music. To tell a story and show your personality through the music you play. I want to inspire my students in a more substantial way beyond just playing the piano. My lessons are engaging and rich with discovery and fun!

My students range from 5 to 60 years old, of all abilities, so it is never late to start, even if you are an adult who never did music before.

  • References Karolina gave our daughter, Jeana, piano lessons for 2 years, supporting her successful progress through SQA National 5 and Higher Music exams. Karolina’s style is warm and encouraging, while being clear in guidance through next steps and expectations for improvement. She is a highly professional teacher, who kept exceptional time and maintained outstanding communication with pupils and their family.
Lessons with a pianist of Karolina’s calibre resulted in an increase in Jeana’s confidence and enjoyment of playing the piano. We enjoyed Jeana’s performance of a challenging piece at a school concert during her Higher year. Jeana also benefitted from playing the piano as a means of escaping the stresses of teenage life.
Jeana says, ‘’Karolina’s lessons were always very productive. I enjoyed the lessons thoroughly. Karolina is friendly, encouraging and motivating. She made me want to play more.”

Karolina explains piano in a way that is very detailed without being overwhelming and so it is easy to understand. I’ve been to 4 piano teachers until now and have always given up after a few months. Karolina has helped me progress enough that it’s kept my interest and kept me going.
I have really enjoyed my lessons with Karolina over the last year or so. Having had 5 different piano teachers over the years (I’m 52!) I find that Karolina covers physical technique, structure, and musicality in a more complete way than any of my other teachers. Add her friendly, humorous manner to the equation and I only wish she had been teaching me for longer!
