Secondary and High School English Teacher

Perrott Hill British School Prague is seeking to appoint an exceptional and enthusiastic Part-Time English Teacher to join our growing Secondary and High School.

About the Role

The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language lessons across the secondary phase, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver high-quality English language lessons to students in Lower and Upper Secondary.

• Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that inspire students to develop confidence in their language abilities.

• Monitor, assess and support student progress.

• Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

• Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of the Modern Foreign Languages department.

• Support students' personal and academic development.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and students to promote excellent outcomes.

• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about language learning, cultural education and international schooling.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE, BEd or equivalent teaching qualification).

• At least one year of teaching experience.

• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

• Familiarity with the British educational system and curriculum.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.

• Strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous professional development.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Experience

Advantageous experience includes:

• Experience teaching within the Cambridge International curriculum.

• Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and/or A Level English examinations.

• Experience organising language-related projects, cultural events or educational trips.

• Experience using assessment data to drive student progress and attainment.

• Experience contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.

• Experience preparing schools for inspection or accreditation processes.
