We are looking for a team lead for our NetForce team based in Prague. You’ll be leading a team of two medior network engineers who manage and support networking services running in cloud environments (AWS, with GCP/Azure addition on the immediate horizon) and on-prem networking devices (Cisco vendor based), ensuring they run efficiently and securely.
This role requires good balance of people and technical skills. Namely experience with on prem and cloud network engineering, docker and AWS, zero trust solutions and familiarity with automation tools like CDK, terraform, Chef or Ansible and scripting skills in Python/Typescript/shell. Main focus will be on design and implementation of secure multi-cloud/offices connectivity to suffice the requirements for integration of the existing Transcarent solutions and tooling.
A day in the Life…
Design, implement and maintain cloud solutions to support network needs, including infrastructure, security, and connectivity for our offices and cloud providers.
Manage on-prem infrastructure for wired and wireless access in our offices
Work with other teams to further improve existing solutions through Infrastructure as a code and automation.
Work with vendors to keep our solutions highly available, secure and cost optimized
Use automation tools for AWS cloud management as code, such as CloudFormation and it’s further abstractions like CDK to manage networking solutions in the cloud.
Use monitoring tools like LibreNMS, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, AWS CloudWatch to monitor networking infrastructure and applications.
Use zero trust solutions like Island, Akamai and Netskope, manage their related connectivity infrastructure
Develop and maintain scripts using Python and shell to automate tasks and processes.
Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot issues remotely.
Ensure compliance with company security policies, patch systems regularly to address vulnerabilities.
Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for all network related issues.
A look outside the day to day:
Research, recommend and architect new cloud solutions and services to improve the company's network infrastructure.
Keep up to date with emerging trends in cloud technologies and networking solutions and make recommendations to the team.
Contribute to the development of best practices and guidelines for network operations, security and engineering.
Capacity management and working with carriers (in the US / CZ)
Lead and mentor other team members to develop their cloud network engineering skills, ensuring teamwork, knowledge sharing and close collaboration using agile principles.
Potential travel to US when on-site presence is required
Demonstrated education, skills and experience to be successful in this role:
Proficiency in Linux system engineering and administration, including shell scripting and command-line tools.
Great knowledge of networking principles and protocols; wired and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Demonstrated knowledge of AWS cloud networking related services, such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Route53, WAF, Shield, EC2 and Lambda.
Familiarity with Cisco solutions and experience with Cisco devices management – Cisco Catalyst devices, Cisco WLC, Cisco ISE, Cisco ASA
Understanding of SD-WAN principles and secure connectivity (IPsec, RA VPN)
Hands on experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) tools like CloudFormation and configuration management tools like Chef or Ansible
Experience with monitoring tools such as Kibana, Elasticsearch, AWS CloudWatch.
Knowledge of Active Directory environment, incl DNS and DHCP services
Basic knowledge of containerization (such as Docker)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Understanding of security best practices and how to implement them in a cloud and local networking environments, including zero trust architecture implementation
Detail oriented & analytical thinking required
