About the Position

Anglofonní základní škola (AngloZS), based in Prague, Czech Republic, is seeking an English-speaking Secondary Education Teacher for Grade 6 to join our school from October 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English, Mathematics and Science to Grade 6 pupils. Applicants must therefore be confident and capable of planning and delivering lessons independently across all three subjects.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Teach English, Mathematics and Science to Grade 6 pupils.

• Plan and deliver engaging and appropriately challenging lessons in English.

• Teach independently and confidently without direct supervision.

• Differentiate lessons according to pupils' individual needs and abilities.

• Assess and monitor pupil progress across the three subjects.

• Maintain a positive, structured and effective classroom environment.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
  

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should:

• Hold an appropriate qualification for teaching pupils at the lower-secondary level.

• Have a qualification obtained in English and be able to teach professionally in English.

• Be able and willing to teach English, Mathematics and Science.

• Have the confidence and experience necessary to plan and deliver lessons independently.

• Be able to adapt teaching to meet different learning needs and levels.

A strong academic or professional background in English, Mathematics and/or the Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) will be highly valued.

Completion of NQT induction is not required.

Contract

The position is offered initially until the end of the 2026/2027 school year (June 2027), with the possibility of extending the position beyond the initial term.
