In May 1995 was established by some 40 Swedish companies the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic.

Since that time, the membership has grown to over 130 companies representing a broad spectrum of businesses not only from Sweden, but also from other Nordic countries in the Czech Republic. As number of members representing Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Icelandic companies had grown it was decided to change the name to Nordic Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic. The new name was inaugurated in May 2005. The Chamber is a non-profit organization and has no political aims. The Chamber became one of the five European Chambers who founded the Euro-Czech Forum. The Forum's main interest lies in making a stable, transparent, modern, and safe business environment in the Czech Republic. The working language of the Chamber and its bodies is English.
