Michelin has announced its prestigious 2017 guide to the Main Cities of Europe; covering 44 cities in 20 European countries, it also awards restaurants a Bib Gourmand distinction for offering “exceptional food at a reasonable price.”

For the Czech Republic’s entry to the guide, three Prague restaurants were awarded stars, with the Czech capital maintaining its three-star Michelin status in 2017.

Old Town restaurant Field, which received its first Michelin nod last year, kept its star in 2017. Helmed by chef Radek Kašpárek, it is notable for its rural chic interior design and free-range dining philosophy.

Prague restaurants Alcron and La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise also retained their stars this year.

Seven Prague restaurants were awarded the Bib Gourmand including Karlin restaurant Eska, which received its first Bib.

Chef Martin Stangl told iDnes, “It’s great, I got very happy and I thank everyone in the kitchen and people from Ambiente who support us.”

Other Prague restaurants receiving a Bib Award are: Maso a Kobliha, Aureole, Divinis, Na Kopci, Sansho, and SaSaZu.
