Have you ever wondered how much damage you could do if you hid out in a restaurant after closing time and spent the night pigging out in the kitchen?

Well, that’s exactly what one man in Prague recently did.

The unidentified 38-year-old man managed to hide in the restroom of an unnamed restaurant on Mezibranská street until staff had left. In the kitchen, he discovered meals that had been prepared for the following day.

Then, he feasted. The tally, according to iDnes.cz

  • Six roasted geese – weighing in at five kilograms each
  • Three ducks
  • A four-liter jar of pickles
  • Six kilos of goose fat and liver
  • Several packs of butter
  • A package of poppyseeds
  • A few bottles of wine and other beverages

Now, the man didn’t clean his plate(s) – he “sampled” from the various dishes, rendering them unusable.

But damages from his epic feast amounted to 20,000 CZK. He stuck around after the feast – probably unable to get very far – until the cleaner found him the next morning and notified police.

The man had also snuck into staff lockers and stolen some low-value goods, including a coffee mug, small change, and even the chef’s trousers.

If convicted, he’ll face up to two years in prison.
