According to reports by Aktualne.cz and other local media outlets, several Prague companies associated with the HateFree culture movement were possible victims of neo-Nazi vandals through the weekend.

A number of Prague business owners woke to “Death to HateFree” (Smrt HateFree) emblazoned across their buildings on Saturday and Sunday, including Mamacoffee, La BiBiche, Inkdividual tattoo parlor, and Správná podprsenka bra shop.

Café V lese in Vršovice was also targeted.

Stickers and red spray-painted symbols from the neo-Nazi Anti-Antifa group appeared on several facades.

All of these companies belong to the HateFree culture initiative, a tolerance movement that encourages business to create “HateFree zones,” places that give customers assurances that they need not fear hateful attacks from employees or other guests.

A police spokesperson said that similar graffiti was reported in the Karlovo náměstí metro station. While the crimes are being further investigated all businesses are operating under normal opening hours.

The HateFree movement released a statement on its blog yesterday: “It is very likely that this is not just a random act of vandalism, but an organized attack on a network of sites that cooperate with us…We would like to express our full support to all areas that are under attack. We appreciate their efforts, courage and determination.”

A peaceful protest has been organized today at Jiřího z Poděbrad square as a show of solidarity for the victims of the crime.
