We successfully serve Prague professionals who want to improve the quality of their written and spoken English. We help adults, from university students to corporate executives, take the next step in learning English. (We are sorry, but we do not teach children.) Many people will teach you basic English, but to succeed in your business and personal communications, you need more than the basics. We tailor our services to your specific needs. Given the pandemic situation, our students now prefer lessons over Skype or Zoom and we are very happy to provide that!
People assess you by the words you use. Professional and business situations demand a level of English proficiency beyond simple phrases and "conversational" English. You need to know how to express your ideas to other professionals by understanding what words to use and how to use them. Learning how to speak and write correct English in professional and business conversations and documents is vital to your success.
We are a husband-and-wife team, and for decades we have helped professionals polish their writing. We are from the United States and are native English speakers, and we have worked professionally in communications for two decades. Douglas (PhD) is a philosophy professor and Paula (MA) is an editor of papers for scientific and medical journals. We are here to help you communicate in excellent English. We have clients worldwide, but of all the cities in the world, we wanted to be a part of Prague, so we relocated our writing and editing business here to help residents of Prague.
We offer two services:
- One-on-one personal conversation practice. A group classroom environment can teach you the basics. A great way to polish your English is to sit down with one of us and talk. Discuss the topics you want to talk about and focus on exactly what parts of English conversation you want to learn and improve.
- Writing coaching and editing. Whether you have a small document like a sign or a menu, or a large document like a report or an article, we make sure that your documents express your ideas in ways that make you look good. We work on many types of written communications and specialize in working with professionals for whom English is their second language.
