Core Responsibilities:

  • Constantly strive to optimize processes and work procedures using the LEGO Continuous improvement approach across functional areas

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (local GAAPS and IFRS)

  • Using Activity Based Working, actively taking part in creating a culture that inspires to collaboration, encourage knowledge sharing and incorporates exciting “New Ways of Working” in the everyday.

  • Building and strengthening basic stakeholder relations across areas and geographies including collaboration and culture (incl. Business Controllers, Project Mgrs., Tax, Group Reporting and External auditors)

  • Managing more advanced execution of GL processes in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, including

    • Monthly and Yearly closing activities

    • Performance of the key controls, identification of the control weaknesses, suggestions for improvements

    • Booking economic transactions and operations

    • Reconciliations (Fixed assets, Leases, Investments, Intercompany, etc.) and translating business transactions into journal entries in accordance with IFRS to ensure all accounts are properly stated in Group and Legal books

    • Provide data, analysis and advice necessary to support financial business partners / business in decision making process

    • Provide information to External auditors and Tax team

    • Collaborating with project managers and Finance partners to secure timely capitalization of investment projects, including proper allocation of costs and adherence to accounting policies.

    • Consolidation Package Reports for legal entities

    • Analyse financial statements/ annual reports

  • Participate in the LEGO tactical implementation plan to reach the goals of the department

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 global locations.

The GL department supports The LEGO Group with consistent, high quality and customer oriented execution of GL processes and stakeholder management, and thereby enables the BSO to succeed in delivering great value to the LEGO organization.

The Senior Accountant plays an important role in developing a best in class GL department within the BSO. We need individuals eager to engage actively in shaping and strengthening a successful department, valuing collaboration, process excellence, quality and fun in the everyday life.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar accounting-based role; fixed asset and lease accounting knowledge would be particularly useful

  • Previous working experience in an International accounting environment is preferred

  • Analytical and high-quality oriented with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to embrace changes, as well as having a proactive mind with a can-do attitude

  • Personal drive and initiative, excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key partners

  • Experience utilising SAP would be beneficial

  • Fluency in Hungarian language would be highly advantageous
