POSITION: MUSEUM MANAGER

Leading and supporting the Museum of Senses Prague team, responsible for overall Museum operation procedures and business performance with focus on team growth and exceptional visitors experience.

Areas of responsibility

The Museum Manager leads the museum operating team in Prague in ensuring a high-quality visitor experience and supporting the global group’s strategic goals and development. The post holder will be responsible for overall team development, exceptional visitor experience, and sales results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and leading a proactive and motivated team that delivers exceptional standards of the visitor experience and effective day-to-day operations 

  • Developing and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement in visitor experience 

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the long-term and short-term strategies, targets, and performance 

  • Monitoring visitor numbers and income, supporting strategies to grow audiences, market position, and income opportunities 

  • Gather, lead, and work with the team to grow and diversify audiences across the market through experience, programs of special events, and community engagement 

  • Actively contribute in plan implementation, monitor, and report on overall targets and tools to succeed in KPI

  • Support the Marketing, Sales, and B2B team/agency in their visitor research, activity, and event planning in promoting the Museum to grow and diversify audiences and income 

  • Daily supervision of all types of services needed to ensure business quality operations such as accounting, legal, recruitment, and bank offices, facility companies to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, overseeing and supervising the repairs and maintenance at the museum when required 

  • Monitoring budgetary income and expenditure as per financial regulations and guidelines 

  • Representing the Museum at external events, meetings, fairs 

  • Supporting the team members to ensure effective management of the daily operations, acting as a coach, mentor, and supervisor

  • Organise employee scheduling with the highest productivity, managing holidays, illness, and other HR issues arising; recruitment, introduction, and development of staff 

  • To monitor and report on overall performance to the Global Group CEO

 

Person Specification

  • Experience in hospitality, FMCG, tourism, and visitors/customer-oriented segments 

  • Knowledge and experience in budget monitoring and ticketing 

  • Experience working in a busy customer-focused environment, in B2B and B2C managing and delivering consistently high standards of customer service

  • Customer/visitors focussed, act on own initiative and be self-motivated 

  • Strong in data analysis and reporting

  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate team members and to communicate with a wide variety of people verbally and in writing 

  • Quick-thinking ability to manage a wide range of tasks simultaneously and work under pressure

  • High level of numeracy, IT literacy, skilled in MS Office

  • Experience in marketing with a focus on online and/or sales is desirable 

  • Czech language at professional/advanced communication level and fluent English required
