GREEN TREE Preschool & Academy
Originally founded by the US Embassy in 2001 to serve the diplomatic community, Green Tree Preschool & Academy has expanded its high quality programs to include the Prague community at large.
In September 2016 Green Tree opened a brand new purpose built facility to offer its outstanding preschool programs, toddler classes and its new Academy programs which include young families, expectant parents, parents and infant/toddler classes as well as arts, music, dance, sports and languages.
Our Philosophy
At Green Tree children are encouraged to “Learn and Grow” in an atmosphere which is stimulating and nurturing. We believe that learning takes place both indoors and out and we have created an environment which enables children to be active explorers through purposeful play activities. Through our theme based curriculum children can become knights and princesses, community helpers, world travelers, archaeologists and much more.
Our Curriculum
The new curriculum at Green Tree is based on the British model, the Early Years Foundation Stage with 4 guiding principles:

Children thrive in positive relationships
Children learn best in enabling environments
Children learn in different ways and at different rates
Furthermore, there are seven areas of learning and development that shape the educational programs at Green Tree Academy. All areas of learning are important and inter-connected however, three areas are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and for building their capacity to learn, to form relationships and thrive.
English immersion program
Our program is taught solely in English by native English speakers. English fluency is our aim and our students love learning in an environment that is warm and engaging. Parents say their children's development is remarkable compared to other schools.
International environment
We celebrate the fact that children from nearly 20 nationalities attend our school. We encourage our students to learn about the many unique people around the world by giving them the opportunity to interact with friends of all backgrounds and cultures.
Academy
In addition to our full service preschool, we offer programs for parents(Berlitz English Course-weekly, Nutrition and Health seminars, and more) and classes for toddlers with their parents; Thursday is Making Music and Friday is Amazing Art and story time. We also offer extension classes for children 3-6 including dance, yoga, swimming and football skills.
