One of the world’s largest private software companies will be expanding its Prague operations in a very big way over the next few years.

Veeam, the leader in backup solutions that deliver Cloud Data Management, currently employs more than 3,500 people in 30 countries around the world. That includes 150 employees in Prague – – a number that’s set to significantly rise over the upcoming years.

Last year, Veeam expanded its Prague offices with a new 3,000 square-meter branch in the Czech capital’s burgeoning Holešovice district. That’s double the size of the company’s previous Prague office.

And to fill the additional office space in its Prague center, Veeam is now seeking to hire more than 500 new software developers over the next five years. Currently, the company is seeking English, Russian, and Czech speaking developers.

The scope of Veeam’s operations in Prague includes Research & Development and Quality Assurance, Tech Support, Sales and marketing, IT and office support, and Human Resources.

If you’re interested in working with one of the world fastest-growing IT companies with a start-up culture, you can view a list of open positions at Veeam’s website or directly submit your CV for consideration for future vacancies.

Inside Veeam’s Prague offices

Veeam’s expansion in Prague is thanks to an investment of $150 million (3.39 billion crowns) in Veeam’s Czech operations announced late last year. In January, Veeam announced that it had been provided with $500 million in investment from Insight Venture Partners in order to accelerate growth, one of the largest investments in the history of software storage.

In expanding the Prague center, the company cited high education levels, acceptable economic costs of operation, location – ease of access by car or plane in the heart of Europe, and safety among the benefits of doing business in Prague. The Czech Republic is often rated as one the most peaceful countries in the world.

“Veeam gives an opportunity not just to work, but to do fascinating activities that benefit both the company’s clients and employees in terms of professional and career growth,” says Alexander Shirmanov, Vice President of R&D and Technical Support in Prague.

Founded by Russian IT entrepreneurs Veeam currently serves more than 340,000 customers worldwide, and reported revenues of nearly 1 billion USD (23 billion crowns) in 2018. Over the past decade, the company has grown from a team of ten to more than 3,500.

Veeam is now one of the world’s leaders in developing backup, disaster recovery and data management software that helps protect millions of individual users across the world.

One of the companies fastest-growing products, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, grew 549% year-on-year and now serves 7 million users across 55,000 companies.

“People turn to us in critical situations — when only we can help,” says Mikhail Zolkin, Vice President of the Technical Support Department.

“It’s nice when your knowledge and experience helps save the data of a whole data center.”

In Prague, Veeam’s company benefits include meal vouchers, language courses (Czech & English), fruit and cookies, game rooms, gym memberships, transport reimbursement, a corporate mobile plan, medical subscription, and more.
