Czech car manufacturer Škoda is widely known for their commercial vehicles, but the company also has long history with rally cars. One of the auto maker’s most successful racing cars was the 130 RS, which debuted in 1975.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Škoda 130 RS, award-winning Czech designer Petr Novague teamed up with Marek Hoffmann, CEO of auto-body manufacturer Kovovýroba Hoffmann, to make something really special.

Their R200 Non-Fiction, the “R-car of the 21st Century”, is a first-generation Audi R8 with a retro Škoda 130-inspired body that pays homage to one of the Czech company’s most famous cars.

The R200 Non-Fiction debuted earlier this week, and can currently be seen in person at DOX until May 11

Photographer Antonín Kratochvíl documented the making of the car in a series of black & white photos that accompany the exhibition.

Kovovýroba Hoffmann will also be producing models for commercial sale; they’ll come with a price tag of roughly 7 million CZK.
