PHP Developer

As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of new features for the Accolade Expert Medical Opinion Platform, as well as the maintenance of the current code base for that platform. You will work with internal stakeholders, product managers and your manager to understand requirements and translate them into software solutions.

A day in the life…

• Understand business requirements and scope of enhancements

• Effectively Design, Architect, and plan the delivery of the proposed enhancements and maintenance

• Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time with high quality

• Demonstrate creative, technical, and analytical skills

• Support a current PHP monolithic application as we work to transition it to a Microservices architecture

• Perform code reviews, troubleshooting of new features and quality reviews

What we are looking for…

• Solid foundational understanding of full stack web development on Open-Source Technologies

• More than 1-3 years of experience developing web applications using PHP (we use framework CodeIgniter) MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ready to consider candidates who want to switch to PHP)

• Experience in writing unit tests

• Strong working experience with Git

• Nice to have working experience with Docker Containers and Microservices architectures

• Basic understanding of AWS IAM, S3, RDS, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda is a big plus

• Experience in building and working in a highly agile, collaborative, innovative, flexible environment

• Experience with Python is a plus
