General Description

The School of Art & Design at Prague College invites applications for Associate Lecturer positions to begin in September 2019. 

The BFAEM programme at Prague College educates students from all over the world to become contemporary artists who work with new media. Part of the course is a strong set of theoretical modules that include projects in research and professional practice for artists. The projects are part of modules shared with another lecturer, and collaboration is key.


  • A lecturer is needed to teach research methodology and to advise art students on a two-semester research project unique to each student. Students must learn to identify and employ dynamic, arts-based, primary and secondary research methods, write a research specification and carry out a research project. The ideal candidate has experience with multi-faceted research and is knowledgeable about contemporary art. Class sessions with students are four hours per week in the autumn semester and two hours per week in the spring semester.

  • A lecturer is needed to lead professional practice projects including researching artist residencies, writing an artist’s CV, an artist’s statement, and a grant proposal and advising students on the creation of a personal website. The ideal candidate has experience with the aforementioned skills and is able to teach presentation skills. Class sessions are two hours per week with students.
