The School of Media & IT at Prague College invites applications for the Programme Leader position to begin in 2019. 


As an institution, Prague College has offered a truly practical university education in Prague, Czech Republic since 2004 (www.praguecollege.cz). Prague College provides a British educational experience and British-accredited diplomas and degrees up the Masters level are awarded. Opportunities for research and enterprise activities are embedded in the curriculum across its three schools and disciplines.


The School of Media & IT in particular is dedicated to providing students with a quality education in which computing skills and knowledge are fostered through a unique programme of study, taught by a wide variety of highly qualified faculty and staff.


Consisting of the two distinct programme areas —  Computing and Creative Media Production — the School of Media & IT aims to educate students through a highly supportive environment in which professional career preparation and personal development are cultivated side by side through a selection of course offerings and projects.


Our dedicated team comprises a number of specialists and advanced practitioners within a variety of fields, including networking, media studies, programming, web design, film and radio studies, multimedia, animation and many other areas. 


Candidates

Applicants ideally will have experience in an academic environment as well as professional work experience. The preferred candidate will be flexible, team oriented, and committed to advancing the programme. Applicants should be passionate about preparing a new generation of specialists for careers in IT, should demonstrate knowledge and be able to teach at a high level in one of the areas of computing on offer at the college. He or she will be able to work with colleagues to develop the programme and manage a group of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate is a person who can work at a professional level with a wide range of people with diverse backgrounds. 


Requirements

The Programme Leader will be expected to act as a representative and liaison for the School of Media & IT, and the college as a whole, support student achievement, develop, administer, and manage all aspects of the programme, lead and manage programme faculty, and coordinate with the Head of School on all matters related to the programme.


Ideally, applicants should have earned a Doctorate or Master’s degree in a related field.  He or she may have strong experience in the areas of: administration, quality assurance, teaching, service or professional activities. As the programme is run and delivered in English, all applicants should be fluent in English, preferably with experience working in either an English-speaking or international environment. Applicants should also ideally have some administrative experience related to the areas of: curriculum development, budgeting, team building, and/ or community relations.
