The success of RFE/RL is rooted in our exceptional employees and our mission for 70 years. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the Office of the Editor-in-Chief as Executive Coordinator in RFE/RL’s Prague Headquarters in this locally recruited position. As such, all applicants must have the legal documentation and right to be able to work in the Czech Republic. As the successful candidate you will report to and be expected to support the VP, editor-in-chief on a wide array of strategic and operational issues within the News Division and ensure close coordination and efficient oversight on collaborative cross-divisional projects. Therefore, you must have a solid foundation of interpersonal skills and be able to establish good collaborative relationships with all RFE/RL divisions and departments and contribute to the smooth management of complex company-level priorities. The primary purpose of this position is to provide the VP, editor in-chief with administrative, planning, and project and/or programmatic support on a large and diverse volume of critical issues related to RFE/RL’s journalistic work and its interactions with other RFE/RL divisions as well as RFE/RL’s oversight body, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and USAGM-sponsored grantees. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate interested in developing high-level administrative and strategic competencies while working side-by-side with senior management in ensuring strong company support of RFE/RL’s journalism and mission. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, efficient, proactive, a polished communicator, and technically and administratively astute. Familiarity with RFE/RL’s work, mission, and organizational structure is preferred. Budget management skills a plus and the ability to discreetly handle confidential information and documents is required.

 

Are you the right candidate?

The successful candidate will have:

· Significant experience coordinating project work for an Executive, Director or Senior Manager while working in an NGO, non-profit or USG institution (minimum 5 years preferred);

· Demonstrated experience in report writing and editing;

· Experience working with corporate teams and/or senior managers;

· Proven experience in administration and working with budgets;

· Familiarity with U.S. federal budget process a plus;

· Understanding or knowledge of RFE/RL’s target region is desirable;

· Familiarity with RFE/RL’s work, mission, and organizational structure preferred;

· Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

· Proficiency in written and oral English (1st language ability) – mandatory.

· Proficiency in target region languages (e.g. Russian, Farsi, etc.) is a plus, but not required
