Overview:
The ideal candidate will have experience operating in a distributed, highly available, multi-tenant environment with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and resiliency. They will have knowledge of modern public cloud environments and modern deployment strategies like container orchestration. A strong background in cloud deployments is required, as is an inherent ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in complex environments.
We are looking for a highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow within the organization. You will play an integral part in helping Mitel grow as the global market leader in Unified Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our public cloud presence on AWS and GCP
- Help measure and monitor application availability and performance
- Use of SRE methodologies to drive operational excellence
- Work independently and be a strong individual contributor
- Manage and support a wide variety of data infrastructure platforms
- Work with development teams to design and implement technical solutions to meet developmental and operational requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Strong working experience in Linux environment and scripting skills
- In-depth experience working in any public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)
- Experience in Configuration Management Systems (Chef / Puppet / Ansible)
- Experience with infrastructure as code solutions (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with monitoring solutions (Cloudwatch, Stackdriver, New-Relic)
- Experience with containers and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Mesos/Marathon, GKE, EKS)
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
- Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
- Strong understanding of message queuing systems and protocols
- Experience with standard web platforms (PostgreSQL, NGINX, HAProxy)
- Solid knowledge of core IP services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NTP)
- An understanding of fundamental technologies like TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS
