The Bach Choir of Bethlehem is the oldest American choir interpreting the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Coming from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 2018, it celebrated its 120th anniversary. The choir regularly performs at Bach festivals both in the U.S. and Europe. It will perform in Prague at the U Salvátora Evangelical Church as part of its tour of Germany (concerts in Leipzig and Dresden) and the Czech Republic under the direction of conductor Greg Funfgeld. The choir will perform Bach’s cantatas No. 9, 98 and 130 along with tenor Benjamin Butterfield and bass-baritone Dashon Burton. The Marian repertoire will be represented by Britten’s Hymn to the Virgin and Ave Maria with Franz Biebl.
