At Vystaviště Holešovice in Prague, the exhibition Mummies of the World takes place from February 1st to June 30th. The extensive collection of a number of worldwide loans represents mummified bodies and artefacts across countries and centuries.

Visit thousand years old Egypt, the medieval civilization of the Incas in Peru, natural nations in South America, but also the Netherlands, Hungary and Scotland. The Mummies of the World exhibition at Výstaviště Holešovice presents European premiere of mummies and artefacts acquired from museums, universities, scientific organizations and private collections from all over the world, which are chronologically and geographically divided into individual galleries. Visitors will also learn about scientific experiments at contemporary American universities trying to imitate both natural and artificial mummification. Some of the most interesting artefacts are the perfectly preserved remains of Baron von Holz, who died during the Thirty Years’ War; the Burns Collection – a series of medically produced mummies used to teach anatomy at the beginning of the 19th century – or a mummified body of the Egyptian priest Nes-Hor affected by severe arthritis and a broken left hip. Not less interesting is the part devoted to mummification in our territory. With its range, historical and scientific value, the Mummies of the World exhibition is one of the largest collections of mummies in the world.
