On the occasion of Eva Jiricna’s jubilee, a retrospective exhibition of the world-famous Czech architect will take place, presenting work from her professional beginnings to the present day.

The aim of the multimedia exhibition is to introduce the development process and the realization of individual projects of Eva Jiřičná’s, as well as the sources of their inspiration. There will be exhibited parts of original projects and documentation about their fulfillment, their architectural models, and examples of interior design and film projections associated with the life and work of Eva Jiřičná. The original monumental glass staircase created for the interior of the Parisian branch of Joan & David’s shop in 1994 will also be reinstalled in the exhibition. .

Eva Jiřičná (* 1939) is the world’s most respected architect of Czech origin. She became a prominent representative of the high tech style, but in her work we also find echoes of organic or minimalist architecture, which continually emphasizes the application of glass and metal in bold constructions that allow a flood of natural light into the interior of buildings. It is characterized by its shapely elegance, lightness of expression, but also the harmony between form and function. It focuses on the detailed elaboration of all technical elements that are beautiful in their utility. She is inspired by technique and nature in design, combining rational approach with involvement of intuition. This architectural versatility is typical for Eva Jiřičná. It takes the form of interiors and family houses, designs public buildings of various orientations, including a library, hotel, school, congress center, and transport terminal.
