Amazing teachers, students and roommate. Definitely a life-changing, busy, stressful, and rewarding month. The staff and friends that I made persuaded me to stay in Prague! There was a lot of help with applying for a visa, finding housing, and getting a job post-TEFL. I would definitely recommend to anyone considering taking a TEFL course!

If you're anything like me, the idea of restarting my life abroad was nerve racking and exciting all at once. There were so many questions that needed to be answered, and, at the end of the day, you were obligated to put an incredible amount of trust into a TEFL program. After going through the program with Hello Academies, I can say that you can trust them fully. Barbra, the course instructor is amazing and actually cares about her students. The rest of the staff is extremely helpful, and you become close friends with the other students and the staff of the program. The experience is amazing! Prague is a fun city, and the money is enough to get by.

After this, it definitely is a Smaller Earth

This is the start of your future. Having graduated from university I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do with my life. From completing other programs with Smaller Earth I came across the chance to complete my TEFL in Prague. I'll be honest, I've always like the idea of teacher, but I had never even heard of a TEFL certificate. I'm glad I have now though. I thought, "it will be easy, I've known English all my life, what new is there to learn?". Lets not beat about the bush, its an intensive course as advertised, so it shouldn't have came as a surprise....it did! It sorts out the people who think its an easy ride and the people who actually want to teach. I was the latter. The course helps you with the grammar and theory behind teaching English. By the end of the course this isn't even the most rewarding part. The people who you meet are fantastic, everyone in the office are amazing, especially Barbora and Shannon. They put some much time and effort in, you really feel looked after. Your fellow TEFL students become really close friends, and the previous TEFL alumni also become close friends. Everyone is in the same situation, and straight away have that in common with one another. Everyones experience is different and you will be able to share stories of your teaching experience. You will meet people from all over the world, as well as local resisdents who you will teach. All in all, was an important part in the development of not just my future career, but the development of myself as person! I would just like to thank everyone I have met and making my time so great, and I would recommend this course to anyone!

The best decision I have made

Having just completed my TEFL certification with Hello Academies in Prague I want to tell you about my experience. I have had the privilege of learning with some wonderful students and most importantly an excellent teacher. The teacher is a TEFL teacher herself and has many years of experience teaching English in different countries around the world. She taught fun and engaging lessons throughout the course, especially when it came to difficult concepts and topics. She was very engaging and approachable, knowledgeable and caring. We could ask as many questions as we needed and she was able to give concise and informative answers. Not only do you have a first class teacher but the other office staff and friendly, helpful, down-to-earth people who can help you with all aspects of being in a foreign country and will help you with finding a job afterwards. The office manager plans social events during your time in the city so that you can get to know your fellow students and have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Czech culture. If you are thinking about becoming a TEFL teacher then I would happily recommend that you come to Prague and train with Hello Academies. I can not praise the Hello Academies team enough for what they have given me and while being here I have made friends for life.

I absolutely loved my four week TEFL course through Smaller Earth. It was an extremely rewarding experience both culturally and educationally. Not only was my teacher a wealth of knowledge, but the rest of the Smaller Earth staff was nothing but helpful. Our program coordinator Shannon facilitated us through the entire course as well as job, housing, and visa assistance. Four months into my life in Prague I have a job I love, am exploring a beautiful and culturally diverse city, and I could not have done it without the amazing people at Smaller Earth.
