mailsi - good but a bit expensive

We liked this place quite a lot. The atmosphere was a little kitschy, but somehow culturally appropriate. And there were nice details (placemats, folded napkins with two sets of silver set in them). Our server, who was also the owner, took excellent care of us (hung up our coats, fetched them as we left, made sure everything was good, etc). We went out of our way to get to Mailsa Pakistani Restaurant, tucked away in a terribly inconvenient corner of Zizkov, because we really wanted Pakistani food. i have been a regular customer for approx 5 years, as this is the other side of town from me i go about 2 or 3 times a year. i have yet to be dissapointed. the service is always efficient and freindly. iam sucker for a good chicken vindaloo and in my opinion they do the best vindaloo in Prague. This restaurant was fairly enjoyable. The service was ok and the food was quite alright. What this place really has got going for it is the atmosphere. You can see that it is a family-run establishment and we felt quite welcome. Went there last week for the first time, atmosphere was great, food super and the service excellant. nothing was too much trouble and we were assured that any dish can be cooked to specifications! Very unnusual here, would fully recommend to curry monsters!
