Mama Shelter Prague is more than just a hotel with a king-sized bed, oversized TV and high-speed complimentary Wi-Fi. It is an open sanctuary and oasis that blends with the vibrant energy and diverse characters that make Prague extraordinary. It isn’t just a place for passers by and sightseers, but it’s a place where leisure and business travelers alike can live, work, love, dream, sing, and come home to at the end of the night.
To achieve this dream, MAMA chose the former PARKHOTEL to become its home. Its unique architecture of Zdeněk Edel with its minimalist clean lines representative of the 1960’s is celebrated by maintaining the original elements. Ancient tapestries have been combined with the eclectic MAMA SHELTER style creating a truly unique place for travelers and locals to love. The cutting-edge yet whimsical design elements were created by Jalil Amor, former assistant of Philippe Starck, and French artist, Beniloys painted figurative and narrative frescos on the walls and ceilings of the restaurant and hotel.
MAMA Shelter Prague counts 238 keys with four room types (Mama Medium 18m2, Large Mama 25m2, Mama XXL 44m2 and our unique Penthouse of 69m2). The property offers the comforts of home coupled with all the needs of the digital era. Travelers can lay back on 100% satin cotton sheets, watch free blockbuster and adult movies, clean and pamper their bodies with MAMA SKIN by Absolution’s all-natural organic soaps and lotions and dry themselves in plush 650g cotton towels.
Mama Shelter is not just a place to sleep but it’s a place to eat, drink, shop, dance, debate and celebrate. The hotel invites both locals and travelers to enjoy home-cooked meals in its two restaurants. The MAMA Restaurant serves a selection of regional, French, American and Italian cuisine in an open concept environment that can accommodate up to 200 people in a variety of settings enabling guests to enjoy a shared meal at a large wooden table or sit privately in one of the tables in the loft. Wood oven pizzas and family-style homemade dishes from around the world grace the menu along with other signature dishes including Mama’s famous lentil salad with a warm poached egg, creamy Italian burrata, traditional homemade goulash with speck dumplings, and a vegetarian rice poke bowl. The funky restaurant offers a generous buffet breakfast and specialty coffee that can be enjoyed inside or on the picturesque terrace, and a selection of games such as chess, backgammon, scrabble, video games and table football adding a little entertainment to the meal.
The restaurant is interconnected with an expansive lounge area which boasts a 17 meter long bar and a legendary terrace ideal for sipping on hand crafted cocktails. Live music can be enjoyed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and six meeting rooms have been set-aside for intimate groups
