In May 2009 a group of Irish lads got to talking about Gaelic Football over a quiet pint and this is when the idea of forming a G.A.A. Club in Prague began to take shape. The following week, the first training session of the Prague Hibernians G.A.A. Club took place with five people in attendance. Now we have a squad of approx. 50 players; the majority from Ireland with a few French, Czech, American and English.
Since the formation in 2009 we have gone from strength to strength with many successes for both the team and its individuals. We get to go on trips around Europe playing other Gaelic teams, and partying with afterwards while remembering the days competitions. We also have the luxury of having a home tournament each year.
We promote a friendly team atmosphere and we are always looking for new members to join us. People of all skill levels (Men and Women) are welcome to participate and try something new. If you are a beginner don't worry. We will offer you friendly advice and plenty of encouragement. Details of training locations and times can either be found on the website or by contacting the club.
We don't just organise Gaelic football events. We also have many social events each year, with meet-ups, quizzes, barbeques, ski trips, etc. etc.
So...........come and join us
