From 2001, Gallery Vernon has been presenting contemporary art to the Czech public with the vision to place world and Czech art side by side as equal partners and serve as a platform where artists who may never have met have a possibility to meet and create art together.
With the beginning of 2014, Gallery Vernon moves into a new location – Janáčkovo nábřeží 21, Prague 5. The river Vltava bank and its surroundings is a lively and attractive area for promenade and we believe that the new location will bring Gallery closer to its visitors.
Exhibition plan for the first half of 2014 includes Finnish artists Päivi Hintsanen and Timo Sälekivi, followed by Slovak painter Lucia Tallo, design photography by Austrian artist Florian Herzog or exhibition of Polish graphic art.
Until 2013 the exhibition space was located in lower Holešovice, U Průhonu 22, former industrial area in Prague that has undergone a profound transformation into a modern neighbourhood full of cafes, shops, and galleries.
In 2013, Gallery hosted a wide palette of artists from all around the world (Italy, USA, South-America countries, Poland, Germany, Greek or Great Britain). The Czech audience had an opportunity to meet different styles, tendencies, methods and techniques of the contemporary art scene, starting with paintings, through typographic art, sculptures and light and kinetic objects to photography or video-art.
Gallery is open to the public on Wednesday, Thursday 12 to 7pm, Friday 12 to 5pm, Saturday 10.30am – 6pm. The entrance fee is 30 CZK, on every first Wednesday of the month free entrance. More info on www.galerievernon.com.
