The Czech project Pardam Nano4fibers has developed and started producing the world's first nanofiber FFP3 respirator, the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association told CTK.

The firm, which is a member of the association, said the resistance to humidity increased thanks to the nanomembrane and the respirator can therefore be used as a protection from bacteria and viruses for several days if the users care for it properly.

Besides, the absence of an expiratory valve enables the users to protect not only themselves but also their surroundings since they do not release potential viruses and bacteria.

"Since the spring, we have been working on the full certification of the respirator to meet the parametres of the FFP3 top protection category. I am glad that after several months of its development and testing, we became the first in the Czech Republic to certify a nanofiber respirator," firm director Jan Buk said.

The Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association said that along with the certificate under the European standard, the BreaSAFE Classic FFP3 nanofiber respirator had also gained a certificate from the U.S. Nelson Labs confirming more than 99.5 percent capture of viruses and bacteria.

Tak se nám to povedlo‼👍 Po několika měsících vývoje a testování jsme jako první v ČR získali certifikaci FFP3 na nanovlákenný opakovaně použitelný bezventilový respirátor! Dostupný bude začátkem února 😎

The current reproduction capacity of the Pardam Nano4fibers firm is 800,000 respirators a month and it was extended also thanks to the contribution from the Czech Rise Up program of the Industry and Trade Ministry.

Pardam Nano4fibers focuses on the research and development of nanofibers, their application, and, their use in the commercial sphere. It has been working in this field for more than ten years. The firm says on its website it is the world leader in the development and industrial production of inorganic nanofibers and polymeric nanofiber membranes.
