Hello dhakals,
i`m afraid there is no good/ensured way to do it. I guess you`ve already read this http://www.governmentsecurity.org/archive/t2411.html , my next try would be annoy HP service center to tears, until they provide help unsolder the mobo battery is last resort, i wouldn`t dare to do it, my hands are way too shaky.. somewhere i`ve read about this spell: take out battery, press power for about ten secs.. it apparently worked once for somebody somewhere...
Good luck! |

| There is an HP service centre in Prague - it used to be in Branik, I cant remember the name of the street but its the main one running between the river and the pankrac area |

| Well we all know what it means when you "forget" the password.
After all that's what its there for, to make the computer useless if stollen.
Basically the computer you bought is just spare parts. Dsonnecting the battery on the motherboard will destroy the computer.
good luck. |

| Its a notebook so this might not work but is applicable on most destops and a lot of notebooks.
Power down your PC
remove the cover so that you can see the battery compartment
near the battery you might see three pins labelled "clear cmos" or "reset bios".
Remove the jumper from the default position (typically connecting the 1st and 2nd pins).
Replace the jumper to connect the 2nd and 3rd pins.
Push the power button on the front of your PC once.
Wait a minute. Power off.
Return the jumper to its default position, connecting the 1st and 2nd pin
this will reset the BIOS to factory default.
YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. |

There's probably a similar way to do it on his laptop, but... Getting to the motherboard of most modern laptops is a PITA. And even then...
Better to do a google search for your HP laptop model and the phrase "BIOS reset" to see if anyone else has published instructions. I found this page for example: http://www.syschat.com/how-to-reset...laptop-418.html |
