From July 2-4, actors, puppets, jugglers, stiltwalkers, and clowns will transform Kampa Island.  This year is the 6th annual Teatrotoc festival and brings 61 performances by 14 Czech and international companies.

Teatrotoč will once again bring the streets of Prague alive with interactive performances by talented artists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, and Israel   Gili Keren from Israel will juggle, tumble and ride „the smallest bicycle in the world“ as part of his internationally acclaimed Circus Show, the ironic performance of The Dance of the Bureaucrats returns from last year’s festival, puppetry students from the Prague Theatre Academy (DAMU) have cooked up „Vegetable Meat,“ and Hugo Forman will present a traditional puppet show in the genre of Punch and Judy.  A rich program has been prepared for children–  including a juggling show by Vítek the Clown, a Finnish version of Snow White and the musical fairy tale About Drumming  by the company Puppets Without Borders.  On July 3 at 5 p.m. Teatrotoc artists will take their stilts, puppets, musical instruments on a parade across Charles Bridge and through Mala Strana.

A new aspect of the festival this year is our Children’s Mornings, bringing children’s theatre performances and puppet making workshops from 10-12:30 p.m.     More performances for the whole family will be held every day from 3-9 p.m.

The festival is supported by the City of Prague.  All performances and workshops are free to the public.
