Refufest on a Farm

The multicultural festival RefuFest on a Farm follows on after a larger scale open air festival which was held on 2nd June at Střelecký island in Prague and received up to 6000 visitors.

Just like its big brother the RefuFest on a Farm provides an oportunity for people from all corners of the globe to meet and aims to provide its visitors with the chance to learn about other cultures through music, dance, drama and food-tasting. The RefuFest on a Farm is being organized for the fourth time by the InBáze Berkat non-profit organization – on Saturday, 8th September 2012 from 12.00 to 22.00 hours. Entrance is free.

RefuFest on a Farm 2012 will introduce into the peaceful atmosphere of the South Bohemian countryside a colourful spectrum of musical and dance performances, theatre, an exhibition of photograps, workshops, food-tasting from different countries and a children´s programme. The main attractions this year are the legendary band Laura & her Tigers, a vocal ensemble of mothers and their children from the town of Klecany who perform under the name Lakomé Barky (the mean Barkas) featuring a special guest, the well-known artist and performer Petr Nikl. To add international flavour, there will be performances by the arabic band Annás Ekvátor, the Boro Balkan Band and others.

The festival will also feature an open air exhibition of large scale photographs by the respected Czech photographer Jindřich Štreit entitled „We are all from the same planet“, which focuses on the stories of thirty foreigners who have settled in the Czech Republic, their ambitions, concerns and moments of joy.
