"TGI Friday's"

I understand that not everyone has had a pleasant experience here, but I actually had a really nice lunch at Friday's last week. The food (Jack Daniel's chicken with mashed potatoes) was quite good, and the service was top-notch (as good as any comparable US restaurant). Based on a previous visit, however, I would suggest NOT ordering the potato skins - very greasy!

Well, I've been 3 times in TGI Friday's and I must say my friends and I decided not to come back again.
The first time (about 4 months ago) the food was not bad and the service was quiet fast, we ordered Friday's world famous burgers and they were good although the fries were very salty.
The second time was a totally different experience, we ordered a BBQ burger and we received a cheese burger, then we asked for cheese nachos and receive beef nachos (were terrible, not taste at all) I ordered chicken quesadilla and it was my worse mistake, the chicken was awfully oily and many peaces were just fat (actually looked like if they took it from one of those chicken little shops near Karlovo Nam. I'm sure somebody will know what I'm talking about) the rest was just some green salad and lots of onions. It was very depressing because we paid about 1.300 for two persons and didn't enjoy the food at all; we told the waitress about the mistakes in the orders but after she said I'm sorry never came back until we asked for the bill.
After that day I decided not to come back again, but one week ago passing by the window I saw the picture of what it seemed to be a perfect cheesecake so I decided to try it and give it a chance to the TGI Friday's deserts (only deserts) but of course I was disappointed again, a very good cheesecake was totally screwed with the bunch of strawberry sauce they put over it.
In conclusion if you want a good fancy meal in Prague the last place you should go to is TGI Friday's.. there are many other much better options and many times for less price and better quality.
Au revoir!

I went to TGIF's at begining of May, hoping to impress a potential real estate client (Czech and Israeli firm).
It was a week night, and being that I didnt make a reservation, we found only one table open. Good, place was busy, it must be good. Wrong!

Beside us some Norweigians were celebrating a birthday, so we had to listen to them catterwall, sing and scream with loads of drunken exaggerated laughter.
English speaking waiter gave us menu, and I was suprised that there were no veggie dishes available. When I asked for a tomato soup, they realized I was a vegetarian, and brought me a special veggie menu. OK, good save there.

Drinks were quite good, then came the food.
My business partner asked for a cheese burger and she swore it tasted like dull pork. I asked for a veggie fajita. All it contained were mushrooms and onions, not other vegetables at all.

The deserts were ordered were very rich and tasty.

Overall, it was not a pleasurable experience, and it was a little embarrassing thanks to those Vikings carrying on.

In my humble opinion, it is not worth the prices, nor a suitable location for evening business meetings

TGI Friday's on Prikope is a nice time-out in Prague's city center. The food is very good, the drinks from the bar have the desired effect (the Ultimate Lime Margarita - Frozen, is highly recomended ;) and the staff most friendly and attentive. Furthermore, compared to Metroplises like London or Paris the prices are more than fair. However most patrons seem to omit that there is also a TGI Friday's in Andel! You will clearly see it from the tram crossing outside the B-line Metro station, just as in Na Prikope, you can expect more than just a great meal...

Overall impression: a succeeded attempt to create an American-style diner. Some details are corny, but that adds to the charm.

Staff is friendly, speaks English and remembers your order first time right and is quick to deliver.

The food: a small roast-chicken salad and Beef BBQ Tacos + 2 beers.

The Salad: even for a small salad a considerable portion, nice dressing, well-roased chicken, a good balance of flavours.

The BBQ Tacos: 2 pcs with fries, served on a hot plate with checkered napkins as decoration (and to drain the fat from the fries (?)). Great spicy flavour, but not too overwhelming, fresh iceberg, sweet baked union-rings etc. The works.

Only minus: the tacos stick to the paper napkin, fortunately paper is almost without flavour ;-)

Total pricetag: CZK 700.
No, not cheap compared to the often-mentioned 'Czech standards', but hey WAKE UP: That Prague is just a faint memory most of the time. I recommend comparison to any other metropole in Europe. From that angle that price is nothing special. What else do you expect from a restaurant in the middle of tourist-teritory.
