It was established in Národní Avenue in Prague by Jan and Štěpánka Paukert in September 1916. With experience of prestigious European firms they have founded an exclusive delicatessen firm in the centre of Prague. A lot of famous people , for instance Ema Destinová, Jaroslav Seifert, Viktor Dyk, Vlasta Burian, Hugo Haas, Václav Talich, Hana Vítová, Jan Werich, Jiří Voskovec and many others, used to be the restaurant´s guests. In 1952 the firm was nationalized. Around the year 1991 the shop was denationalized and handed back to Jan Paukert Jr. He started building it again and in 1995 the shop was restored. The Jan Paukert firm has the oldest delicatessen tradition in Bohemia. The wine bar is famous for its archive contained even bottles filled before 1938. It offers wines in wide assortment of species from all over the world. An indivisible part of the offer there are various sorts of cheese, pâtés as well as cold starters of fish and sea fruit.
