Nestled away in the Nusle Valley, Koni Bar might just be the Mexican restaurant that everyone is looking for. Although it does suffer the inconsistency problem that seems to plague Czech restaurants that try other cuisines than Czech, it´s still worth a try. Just ask for the “salsa” on the side. On one visit it was actual salsa, on another it was just hot and sweet ketchup mixed together!
The menu consists of a broad selection of Mexican and South American influenced dishes, most priced at around 100kc, only the steak and shrimp dishes come closer to 200kc.
The atmosphere is a big part of the charm, with big leather sofas and over-sized chairs and big TV´s showing whatever “the” game is that night, give you the feeling of someone´s den. Add a few ice cold Budvars and you are set!
