When you´re feeling the need for some suburban “mall-ing”, this is the place to go. Still fresh and uncrowded, the newly opened Gallerie Butovice´s main attraction is the large salt water aquariums located on the second floor of the shopping center.

Another highlight is the sports bar/casino/bowling alley near the aquariums. All modern and high tech, this is going to be a great retreat on those long dreary winter days to come.

Even though it´s not a high traffic zone for English speakers, all of the sales people and wait staff seem to make an effort with “trochu anglicky”. My mom even managed to get her hair washed and styled with minimal charades. A great hairdo and a free cup of cappuccino to boot!

Like most of the shopping malls here, there is a play area for kids and regularly scheduled family events. So for expat families craving a bit of western familiarity, including a drive-through McDonald´s, Galerie Butovice is your place!
