The past years have proven that there is a foundation for winegrowing in the Most region.

Compared with the other plants, grapevine can best exploit the southern hills of this region. Vineyards in the Most region embellish the countryside and belong to the town. You can really taste quite a bit of hard work and part of the winemaker's heart in our wines. All our wines have been regularly awarded at wine fairs. In recent years, our wines have been granted numerous awards, medals and diplomas at the following wine competitions: Valtické vinné trhy (Valtice Wine Fairs), Grand Prix Vinex Brno and Státní zámek Velké Březno (State-owned Château Velké Březno). Our wines were awarded six gold medals at the Regional Fair of the Bohemian Wine Producers Guild in 2003. Three Most wines are among the 77 best Bohemian and Moravian wines in the TOP 77 2003 rankings (Pinot Gris special selection 2000, Pinot Noir kosher late harvest barrique 1999, and Saint Laurent late harvest barrique 2000). Our latest activities for the town of Most and the surrounding countryside include the restoration of the vineyards in the traditional areas on Široký vrch and Hněvín, where medieval basalt terraces have been preserved. On March 30, 2004, Czech President Václav Klaus and his wife Livia planted young plants of Ryzlink rýnský (Rhine Riesling) in the restored "Heavenly Vineyard near Black Pine" on the Hněvín hill. The vineyard planted by the presidential couple was named the Livia Vineyard. It was not easy to bring wine growing back to the Most region. So let us drink to its future. Cheers!
