"Hruby Moving s.r.o"

I hired Hruby Moving in Prague, to move my whole home, and have it stored in their supposedly very safe storage. What happend was:
The salesman, that should take care of this, and also bring me boxes before moving date, arrived the day before moving, with 3 boxes!!!....
As it turned out, he had no competence at all, to meassure, storage space accordingly (turned out he had not! at all reserved any storage space), and also had no clue as to how many movers was needed for packing and moving. In the middle of the moving day, suddenly more movers arrived? - and a phone call from the salesman, that the first price was no longer valid, so if they were to move for me, the price would go up, because they had had to bring in more people and bigger Vans, and he gave me the price per phone. After 6-8 moving people having "handled" my home for about 7 Hours, and dropped a Designer lamp on the floor, breaking it (that mover had been drinking Beer, while sitting supposedly to watch the Van. But we went to their "safe" storage, which turned out to be some shelfs, stuffed with my home, art and all other sorts of things, unmonitored and next to some car repair things was the rest of my home scattered about, paintings, furnitures, boxes you name it!....
They managed to find one Container, and started to move my things, again! into that (oh, and that container had other peoples stuff in it, that now was being shuffled around to who knows where. They started to fill the Container, but still needed to empty one more Container, for placing my things in, so when the movers started to leave - at that time it was somewhere between 10-11 pm, my things was still all over the place. Finally we had to leave, and was promised that all would be in its place next day???? That I doubt.
When they moved my home back, after I had been abroad for some months, it was the same unprofessional thing. The point where I found out, that this is really bad!, whas when I looked for an empty plastic bag, and saw some "paper" stuffed in the bag, with all the empty plastic bags, and found out, that is was expensive pieces of Graphic art, that was stuffed in there, and very damaged. I rushed to where the Graphic maps was placed by the movers, and found 1 opened - and empty! - all art gone, then I started searching, and this very week-end the list is being finished. I must give them, they do have taste, there is only one thing that has a serial no. missing, the rest, pots, pans, exp. Italian and Danish Christmas things, huge home knitted and expensive Christmas things, all sorts of Kitchenware, early 60's Barbie Doll collection, the list goes on and on. And only responce from one of the owners is rude behaviour.
I cannot stress enough to people out there, not! to use this Company, it is the most unthrustworthy moving company, and the most unprofessional handling in both the move the storage the paperwork, that I have ever seen or heard about.
The sad thing is, a Company that has the above attitude towards their customers, and their customers belongings, are doing great damage to the rest of that Business.
So, if you don't want to have sleepless nights, spending time with lawyers and the Police, don't go there.

If you are the type of Expat who enjoys bashing the Czechs, please do not read this review. I have a client, The University of Northern Virginia, which needed to move its location within Praha. I contacted every moving company listed on www.expats.cz. Hruby came in with the best price (for example, 50% less than Allied and 25% less than AGS). I wasn't confident that they could move an entire school, but I did make some calls and was told by other Expats that this company really can deliver. We made the deal with fluent English speaker Ondrej Martinek, and he did deliver perfectly. We used 15 men and 5 trucks for each of two days (and when I write trucks, I dont mean Ford Transit vans...I mean big assed rigs). The crew were all on time, and they worked. I repeat they worked, not lolligagged, for 8 straight hours each day. They were able to provide all the boxes needed (for example 96 boxes for the Library alone), moving gear for classrooms, a 200kg safe, a rec center, offices, very sensitive electronic equipment and NOT A SINGLE MISHAP OCCURED WITH ANY OF OUR GOODS. On a side note, I never heard so many "ty vole" and "jezise kriste" It was so much fun to listen to them fire their insults back and forth. To their credit, they totally eased off all the fun language when the teachers and secretaries were around. Hruby even manged to solve aa couple fo problems that were NOT of their doing...for example the floor wasnt installed at the new location on time, and Hruby were able to take appropriate actions to continue the work without disruption. And when it came to billing their were no "extra" surprise charges. Hruby kept their word and honored their contract, even though we gave them extra work during the move. I can not write on how they can handle international moves, but for local moves, Hruby is professional, friendly, efficient and ON TIME!!!!
