My partner and I recently visited the Smugglers Lodge after seeing it on expats. We decided to drive there from Prague and it was really easy to find and quite quick. Dasa and Nick made us instantly feel at home, you could tell that they were the right people for this kind of business. The visitors quarters blew me away, they were so stylish and full of lovely antique furniture. The high light though I must say was the quality of Nick's cooking. All the ingredients were freshly sourced and expertly put together and he caters for everyone including fussy eaters like me!! I think I will make this place my yearly retreat from the city.

Some people are just born to host and I think Nick and Dasa are two of those poeple. I always feel taken care of, not smothered when I visit their place. They offer you a beautiful place to sleep and gourmet meals but it feels like you are a part of the farm, not a customer.
I have been back to the Lodge more than once because I have not found any other places in the Czech Rep. that offer me the same feeling of relaxation that the beautiful surroundings here do.
There are beautiful daytrips all around but I almost always just end up suntanning and browsing the extensive book or DVD collection.
I recommend Smuggler's lodge to all my friends who go to the Czech Republic and I recommend it to everyone else as well!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at the lodge. It was very romantic and private. The food Nick and Dasa prepared was delicious. They´re both great for conversation, too. Our room was very charming and cozy, as was the rest of the house. We were both very glad we stayed there. Highly recommended!!
