Club Hotel Impuls*** can be found at PÅ™Ãbram, 60 km southward from Prague, 30 min. driving along the road under the highway to Strakonice. Â
The hotel is situated at a town quarter with modern buildings, however, the historical town nucleus is very easily accessible on foot (about a 15 minutes walk), an urban traffic stop distance from the hotel is 200 m. Currently, PÅ™Ãbram is a modern town with forty thousands inhabitants; from time immemorial it has been linked with minerals mining. The town of PÅ™Ãbram is one of the well known historical royal mining towns. The earliest written document on that seat dates back to 1216 when the locality was bought by Prague bishop OndÅ™ej. In the second half of the 13th century it used to undergo many riots. Stabilization came only with new residents and afterwards with first Prague archbishop ArnoÅ¡t of Pardubice (1343 -.1364) who had a new stone castle built - today's Ernestinum, and saw to construction of the St. Jan church too. The Thirty Years War brought again a period of great instability to the town. A religious putsch even occurred and re-conversion to Catholicism, that was precipitated by the fact, that the local St. Mary's chapel Holly Hill was widely known as the most famous place of pilgrimage in Bohemia. The main source of the burghers' livelihood became provisions for pilgrims and also mining was successfully developed (iron, silver and later uranium). The top prosperity of the local mining business persisted till 1880´s. PÅ™Ãbram continues to be a town of pilgrimage and a memorial of rich mining traditions. It is becoming a centre of scientific researches in the history of uranium industry and the third resist movement against Communism. It starts prudently to derive benefit from its remarkable history as well as present possibilities in order to be able to provide for a safe and cultural home to its dwellers and interesting and pleasant impressions to its visitors.
