GREEN TREE Preschool

Green Tree Preschool, established in 2001, is a unique, one of its kind early learning establishment supervised by the Prague U.S. Embassy. It is conveniently located in the quiet grounds of the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in Prague 6. We are open to the public and welcome all children from diplomatic as well as non diplomatic families.

Curriculum
The school runs on a weekly theme-based program, incorporating cognitive, art, science, sensory, language, gross motor, etc. into the curriculum. Our themes include topics designed to help the children foster a better understanding of themselves, the environment around them, and practical life skills, as well as the various cultural traditions of our children and teachers. The curriculum is adapted to match the developmental needs of each child; therefore, while one child may be working on writing letters, another child may be working on sounding out letters and reading.

Preparation for school
We are using a special accredited program from the Ministry of Education for support and stimulation of our children. The program develops motor skills, develops communication skills and sectional functions in visual area, auditory area, spacial orientation, area of sense coordination and learning in order. Further on it develops the motor skills required for the ability to write and focuses on attention. The whole program is outlined so that the gross and fine motor skills and perceptive areas are equally strengthened

Our Program
Green Tree offers a Toddler program for children two to three years old, and a Preschool program for children three to six years old. The school is open daily from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm. Green Tree school holidays are generally consistent with the schedule at International School of Prague (ISP).

School Trips
Each month there is a trip according to the theme, field trips have included visiting Sea world, the Zoo, the Technical museum, the Agriculture museum, the Military museum, Botanicus, Koneprusy Caves, a Pumpkin farm, and a children´s theatre. Trips are at no additional cost and are fully covered by the students tuition.

Small classrooms
Each program is limited to a maximum of 12 students per day, allowing for more effective student-teacher interactions.

All English programs
All our programs are taught solely in English. The children will learn the language just like their mother tongue.

International environment
Children of all nationalities attend our school giving them the opportunity to interact with friends of all backgrounds and cultures.

Security
Thanks to its unique on the grounds of the US Ambassador's residence, our school offers your children the highest security with no access to anyone without special permission.

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM
We offer a Summer camp which runs throughout the Summer months. Weeks of camp are chosen according to the interest of our parents.
